Ocala Florida glass-bottom boats
Ocala, the seat of Marion County, is surrounded by some of the most beautiful horse farms in the world, the Silver Springs attraction with its famous glass-bottom boats and the Ocala National Forest. We are about an hour's drive to either coast or to the attractions of Orlando. Ocala is served by I-75.

Ocala was established in 1846 near the site of Fort King, a military outpost of the Seminole Wars. The name is derived from the fact that Hernando de Soto passed through a Timucua village named Ocali near the present site of Ocala during his famous 1539 expedition through the current Southeastern United States.

Stroll or jog on one of our walking trails at Jervey-Gantt, Martin Luther King Recreation Complex or Lillian Bryant Park. Go fishing at Lake Tuscawilla, Ritterhoff Park or Nature Park. Enjoy the annual Fishing Derby held at
Tuscawilla Park in April. Try bicycling at

Coehadjoe park. There are 31 parks in all in Ocala where you can enjoy the outdoors.
